Advance Wars: Dual Strike is less than a month away, so I thought I would make a quick announcement letting you all know that AWN's staff is working diligently behind the scenes to ensure that we remain the undisputed source for in-depth Advance Wars info. When AW1 was released we went above and beyond, by creating detailed unit, terrain, and CO guides, no to mention movement charts, damage charts, etc. Other AW fansites followed suit, to keep up.

With the release of AW2 we worked hard to 1up ourselves by having a complete S-Rank campaign guide available on the very day the game was released, as well as being the first source of the lab map locations.

We intend on maintaining that tradition with the release of AW:DS, because the hardcore AW community wouldn't accept anything less. We're already the best source for AW: DS Artwork and Music, but I've updated our sidebar to reflect the sections that are going to be created as soon as possible, after the game's release.

All right. Just to announce this on the main page, for the newer members who haven't had a chance to check our forums yet. (Since I've gotten a couple e-mails regarding this already.) Yes, AWN does have ads now. Why? Music downloads are going up, and according to Madcow, we went through five gigs of bandwidth a few days ago. It may not seem like a lot, but sooner or later, if the amount of downloads increases, Madcow will end up having to pay more and more to keep AWN going. So, just click on them if you happen to find something interesting, and if not, ignore them. No big deal. Oh, right. The AWN E-mail page has also been updated with newer staffer contact info. That's about it...

June begins, and with it... well, two years late, but we now have an AW2 Map Editor! And by that, I mean one that works and is (or should be) fast and compatible with most Windows versions without needing many extra files. It can load old .awm files, although it can only save in the new .aw2 format. You can even send its new files straight to the Design Maps, without the need to convert them to image files!

This is our new home. A shorter and easier to remember URL, and also a faster (and hopefully more reliable) server. Welcome to AWN!

A quick update on the AWDS Center, thanks to a higher-quality video found by Insaneload.

The file reorganization is not finished yet, but it's almost... Well, why would that matter when you have new fresh info on Advance Wars DS? Nintendo released new AW DS footage today at the Paris press conference (in the official DS announcement for Europe), and Madcow got the movie showing some DS games in action. I've updated the AW DS center with new informations, screenshots and a movie, and created a First Media page with pictures of the units and COs.

Okay, you don't have a DS and you are not going to buy one. Have your joined our forums yet? If not, you have a good reason to do it now. The Who Wants To Be A CO? is back! If you don't know what it is, let me explain: a weekly quiz show, where you can get prizes if you answer the questions correctly. Getting ready is easy: play Advance Wars and AW2 and be sure you know everything about the games. OMG, I'm a staffer! PH34R!!! Yeah...I'm in charge of the Advance Wars: Under Fire section. Expect large amounts of info that small amounts of people will want to read. *thumbs up* Wheeeeeeeeee...

Understandably, AWN runs on one of the slowest servers on the internet, so here's an update on the server change situation: We're awaiting a move to www.awn.net. Yeah, I know, Advance Wars Net dot net is a bit repetitive, but it's a much shorter URL, and we'll run on a server that doesn't also run some six other sites. This also means that the AWN Popularity Contest will resume after the server change, and that both the forums and design maps will be MUCH faster. Stay tuned. Meanwhile, we'll be hitting the update department again after Roma fixes up the site reorganization process.

The site files reorganization is closer to completion, as well as switching all the pages to the new sidebars/colors (including the AWDS link). RSE's staff profile is up. I also want to ask all staffers to avoid changing files right now; also, please download a file from the server before updating it, as the versions in your computers probably still use the old "layout".

Alright, so hi! For those that don't know me, I am kpvcgnimaster of AWN. I will be doing some War Room submissions as well as some work with the GUI transformation with Zeph. Some plans include a new server, meaning a domain (YaY!) and loads more. So, have a nice day guys.

Hay guys. Looks like I'm handling submissions for the time being, whilst also working on the GUI overhaul of AWN. I'll probably be able to do an update once a week at the weekend, so I'll look forward to seeing your COs and units as well as some of your fan creations too.

Design Campaign is up as well. Actually, you can now send custom campaign maps to the design maps normally, and ask a DM moderator to add it to your campaign (this process may be automated in the future). If it's your first campaign map, you will have to contact me or DeathBerzerker so we can create a custom campaign group for you. You can contact us via e-mail, forum PM or instant messages.

After a long night of work (up to 5 AM yesterday, yay!), I am happy to say that... Design Maps is back again!! Yes, the section that used to be the most active of AWN is back up. I've finished the What CO Are You? AW2 version, and finally the AW2 damage calculator is complete! It's already 4 AM here, next time I should sleep instead of doing these things...

An old polls archive has been created, so you can check the old polls' results - for example, what pizza flavor is the favorite of the average AWN visitor. A new page full of fan arts is online. For those who had sent me those comics and art - I'm sorry. I thought I had put them up in the site a long time ago, but I didn't. Only the fanfics had been uploaded, but I didn't mention it either.

I've updated the site polls, added a secret to AW1 Hints & Secrets page, and cleared the old sidebar updates list (it was really outdated). We have new comics, and the comics page was reorganized too. And a new AW Online version is scheduled for this year...

Hi. I'm Yoyo, and you've known me a while if you read my guides, check design maps, or on the forums. But good things have to come to an end somewhere. As a member that joined AWN in February 2002, to a staffer in June 2003, to now, I've been here to write guides and make design maps, as well as mod the forums. Aight, I aint be doing much yet so here's some updates. For one, I corrected the date in Hystrix update, whic contained a date that still had to come (either he made a mistake or he can travel to the distant future...). Then I've been doing great uploading 15 (!) comics from Suramarine's Totally Flaked comic series. They can be found on the Comic Page and Sura will probably put them on the board again with these new hostings.

1. 2001, Early Morning: Advance Wars hit stores. Woop! Yay! Wahoo!

2. 2001, Mid-Morning: The infamous 9/11 terrorist attacks. I don't think I need to remind anyone about this...Roma has his own ideas about it though.

3. 2002, Unknown time: AWN is revived after being shut down for several months, and nearly not revived due to legal circumstances. Yay (Not the last part)! That's what you're looking at!

You people go contemplate these things and why they all happened on this day. I'm gonna go do things...did I mention my friend's birthday is today? Yea...he hates the terrorists for choosing his birthday.

All good things must come to an end... man, how many times have you heard THAT cliche on the web? ;) To keep things short and sweet... 1. Real Life has me Real Busy. 2. AW is nice, but not really a huge interest for me anymore... so, my short stint as webmaster is over. I'll still be in the forums as an admin, but that's the only place... Any problems you have go to Roma Emu, cause he's the man now. As a last "official" act, I've hired in Koop and Nani as forum mods, exclusively. A change of policy from the past, I know, but with the forums growing every day, we need some people who's job it is to manage it. And that's all... I'll see you in the forums ^_^

The navigation menu and sidebar aren't working. I used a temporary solution to make them working in the main page, but only the main page. I also fixed the "AWN" link in the top screens of the Design Maps.

I had changed the site poll days ago (finally! ^_^) but I tested it today and noticed it wasn't working. Problem fixed...

Hello, it's the YoyoYoshi with a first HTML update! All AW2 NC OS missions have been newly HTMLized with general strategy. Quite long too.

For the second time in my period of unrest, I update with guides for most of the GE missions, written of course by YoyoYoshi. He's great, so thank him! No, really, thank him. He might get sad. Sad ain't good...

I'm still nocturnal, as you can see. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page and look on your left, you'll see that madcow has reset the site's counter to commemorate the unleashing of AW2 upon the world. Joy. In other news, I've added how to unlock most of the COs to the Advance Wars 2 secrets page. Bask in AW2 goodness.

I AM nocturnal! Bwahahahahahaha! Anyways, YoyoYoshi has been kind enough to finish off YC campaign, so those guides are up. And yes Yoyo, your name is on the guide now.

The secrets page has been updated with the final few lab map locations, and the name of the four secret missions. Are there anymore secret levels that we have yet to uncover? Time will tell...

Another 6 of Yoyoyoshi's AW2 campaign guides are up. He's doing a pretty fantastic job, isn't he?

And another update today... I found in my email inbox a fan art which I didn't even know that I had received, and an useful Map Pack - 20 maps from AW1 that were ported into the AW Map Editor form so they can be played in the online games. YoyoYoshi's fan fiction was also updated. And I did I mistake in the last update; they're 25 new screenshots!

My next appearance should be to bring back the media section. Until then...

I had much less free time yestarday than I expected... and it wasn't enough to have everything ready for the update. Anyway, here [today] it is...

I have added the 16 new screenshots about AW2, and also added Insaneload's fan comic. I swear that I will update YoyoYoshi's fan fiction tomorrow. My next goal is to get the AW1 Media Section working again, then finish AWOS. Which should be adapted to AW2OS..

Hello, it's been a long time since my last update... I have rewritten the AW2 informations page completely. I don't have more time today, so I'll only be able to put up the new pictures (and there are lots of them!) tomorrow. There are also a new fancomic, and a fanfiction, but as I mentioned before I must go sleep. Until tomorrow!

We have updated the AW2 Screenshots and AW2 Factsheet pages, as 3 new pictures (including the box art) were found at IGN.

I also began working on reviewing all the old pages of AWN, starting with the COs Guide page which now is done.

You probably have noticed many problems in AWOS v0.4. I know about them, and I'm trying to fix them. Expect version 0.4a soon.

While surfing around the net a couple days ago, I found a new bit of information on Advance Wars 2. It's supposed release title is Advance Wars:The Black Hole Rising I have updated it on the AW2 fact sheet as seen....here: AW2 Factsheet. I know some of you might not care much about it or already know, but I thought I'd just mention it anyways, cause the name wasn't on the AW2 Fact Sheet.

Aren't those "quickly" awesome? I finished version 0.4 of AWOS only now... Click here to go to its page. The new features are there too, but let me name the most important:

• AWM files supported
• All units available
• Indirect fire supported
• All the COs (but not CO powers) supported

I'd also like to tell that I am working again on the AWCG project again, and I should have the basic rules written soon.

I've also put online this Online Games Checklist, that shows what AWOS and OW have... this just adds up to competition, and makes we both work faster! I'll try to keep it updated (XLittleP, update it too!) daily.
