MK64 Switch GP Annual Elo

Each calendar year is its own Elo season. Ratings reset to 1000 on January 1. One recorded match is enough to appear.

How GP Elo Works

Every player starts each calendar year at 1000. Each recorded GP result compares the two players. A win counts as 1, a tie as 0.5, and a loss as 0.

Expected result:
E_A = 1 / (1 + 10^{((R_B - R_A) / 400)})

Raw GP Elo update:
R′_A = R_A + 32 × (S_A - E_A)

Beating a higher-rated player gains more Elo; beating a lower-rated player gains less. Losing works the same way in reverse.

Leaderboard Elo:
1000 + (Raw Elo - 1000) × Matches / (Matches + 30)

The Elo column is the confidence-adjusted annual rating used for ranking. Raw Elo shows the unadjusted annual Elo. Elo gives regular matches weight; tournament results remain the record of tournament championships.
