MK64 Switch VS Annual Elo

Each calendar year is its own Elo season. Ratings reset to 1000 on January 1. One recorded match is enough to appear.

How VS Elo Works

Every player starts each calendar year at 1000. A VS lobby compares each player against every other player in that lobby. Finishing ahead of an opponent counts as 1, a tied score counts as 0.5, and finishing behind counts as 0.

Expected result against one opponent:
E_ij = 1 / (1 + 10^{((R_j - R_i) / 400)})

Raw VS Elo update:
R′_i = R_i + 32 × [Σ_j≠i(S_ij - E_ij) / (N - 1)]

The bot calculates that comparison against every opponent in the lobby, averages the adjustments, and applies the result once. One VS lobby therefore counts as one rating event.

Leaderboard Elo:
1000 + (Raw Elo - 1000) × Matches / (Matches + 50)

The Elo column is the confidence-adjusted annual rating used for ranking. Raw Elo shows the unadjusted annual Elo. Elo gives regular matches weight; tournament results remain the record of tournament championships.
