The War Room provides optional challenge missions beyond the Normal and Advance, Hard, or Challenge Campaigns. These missions are ideal for players looking to test their mastery of units, CO abilities, and strategic positioning. They often emphasize specific scenarios, restricted unit pools, or unique objectives, offering a different flavor from the linear campaign missions.

First, study up on this walkthrough's advice in the Units, General Tips, and CO Guide sections. The general advice there will be more useful than any turn by turn guidance that I can give on particular maps, because they are all maps where you deploy your own units. Offensive COs like Max will excel on open maps, while defensive COs like Grit will shine on maps with choke points.

Next, focus on map control. Prioritize capturing bases, airports, and ports early to maintain unit production and resource advantage. You'll want to build as many Infantry as possible without running over the 50 unit cap. Cheaper units that are more versatile, like Infantry, Tanks, Artillery, Anti Air, and Battle Copters, will usually be the unit types you want to spend most of your resources on.

Finally, War Room missions award points based on Power, Technique, and Speed. Speed is based on the number of days, which benefits HQ captures. Power is based on how many units you kill on your best turn. Technique is based on the percentage of units lost. So it is to your advantage to join units when possible to avoid losing points in the Technique phase.

If a mission is challenging, reload and experiment with different COs and unit combinations. These missions are designed for iterative learning, so do not worry about failing the first attempt.
